Print Publications
Are you a print publisher?
(Maybe you'd like some help in becoming one?)

The cost to launch your own print publication can be significant. Staying afloat can be even more daunting. So, whether you're already publishing, or just getting started, why not use IMC contacts and methods to generate more income?

The Internet Marketing Community (IMC) is a simple way to use other companies to advance your own goals. Remember that old saying, "I'll scratch your back if you'll scratch mine." That's the IMC in a nutshell, except IMC participants use the Internet to do the scratching. Most every business now has a web site trying to attract new business. Using the IMC, these web sites will send their overflow to you. These are your potential subscribers and advertisers, and the numbers can be huge.

As a publisher, you sell advertising. Ad space is where you have something extra. Did you know that….

There's a world of IMC companies out there that need advertising. Your advertising is your capital. By becoming an IMC publisher, you can enlist these companies promote you, by exchanging a little of ad space.

All you really need is the willingness to print "what works". You can do this right along side with something more tuned to your personal interests. "What works" are inexpensively printed classified type publications, wholesale or retail. (Not a lot of flash, just basic listings, categorized by subject matter. Sellers give you the content, so you're not paying big money for writers and photographers.) Also see "Classifieds" for more info.)

A quick EIS consultation and evaluation is available at no charge. To inquire, call (425) 487 3700 .

Just a thought:

What if you owned a hundred publications? What if the majority of your promotional and content costs were borne by others? This is possible by the exchange of your advertising space. One point here, is the economy of scale. A large number of publications will bring your price-per-piece printing costs way down, and therefore your profits way up.

Associated Businesses and Revenue Streams:

Listed below are a number of business opportunities that would be an excellent fit with an IMC print publication.

Some opportunities listed have estimated costs. This is because some development work has already been done. These costs represent a "best guess" as to what it would take to acquire the assets and traffic that have already been built around that particular opportunity. Many have no acquisition cost, because no work has been started. If your type of expertise isn't listed here, there's nothing to stop you from including it.

Consulting estimates are provided by Electronic Information Services, Inc.

PRINT DIGITAL HYBRID

The best! This is a wonderful addition to a print publication.

This works using Adobe Acrobat PDF files. It allows a print publication to integrate with an IMC Directory that uses an online database. Customers can print out timely information and advertisers in both the Directory and Print Publication get greater exposure.

Estimated Cost for Consulting:  $2,000.

PRODUCT SALES

Start a publication to promote your own product or service.

Own the media! This concept is an IMC staple.

If you own the publication, you obviously get primary placement. You also get income from other advertisers and subscribers, and you can also trade ad space with other media. This sure beats paying for advertising, like most companies do.

Estimated Cost for Consulting: Free to IMC Service Providers.

INDUSTRY DIRECTORY

Running an internet directory for all publications of your type is the basis from which all IMC benefit flows. It's a perfect fit with a print publication.

No charge if you qualify for an 'Open' directory. Directories that are already taken, will require negotiation with its current owner.
Need help? $500 will buy you consulting for an unclaimed (open) directory.

CD-DVD PROMOTION

Integrating a CD Directory can increase your ad income. This business has been tested, and achieved great success with the creation and distribution of the Surplus Directory on CD-ROM. These CDs will soon be sold out and everyone will be ready for version 2, this time with more than just surplus vendors. This business has 3 known revenue streams, including inventory sales.

Also see "CD-ROM Directory".

Estimated Cost for Consulting: $5,000 plus programming. Duplication costs will depend on the volume being produced.

CONTACT LIST GATHERING

This can work in several ways. One being in association with web site construction, and another with a For Sale and Wanted program. Leads are automatically loaded into a database. Very effective, but it does require a technical infrastructure. (For example, IMASD gets up to 100 offers daily using this venue. Inquire to see a working example.)

Estimated Cost for Consulting:   $2,000. (IMC Service Providers only.)

FAX NEWSLETTER

Marketplaces can move fast. This can supplement a print publication with a "hot sheet" application for timely news that must be delivered quickly.

The value of a delivered hard copy (a fax) is greater than an e-mail. It has more impact. Running a Broadcast Fax Newsletter can be profitable, and relatively easy to run. A good fax newsletter is not a huge income earner in itself, but it is an excellent support service. Publishing a newsletter makes you most of your money indirectly.

Also see "Broadcast Fax".

Estimated Cost for Consulting:  $1,000.

E-MAILING LIST

There's a way to do this properly, and for a fee the manager of one of the most popular e-mail newsletters on the net will teach you how. You should keep in mind that a good e-mail newsletter is not a huge income earner in itself, but it is an excellent support service. This will make you most of your money indirectly, not as an advertising venue in itself.

Estimated Cost for Consulting:  $1,500.  (IMC Service Providers only)
